In 2010, AltaGas committed to a 10-year program to offer one new Tahltan post-secondary graduate per year with the opportunity to participate in the New Graduate Development Program. The two-year program provides new graduates with a challenging work experience that helps them move into successful careers at AltaGas. Graduates are paired with a mentor and experience different areas of AltaGas’ business through six-month rotations.

Commencing in June 2015, AltaGas is offering a two-year development program. We are currently seeking Business Analysts and Junior Operations Engineers to be placed in a new graduate development and extended orientation program that will accelerate your hands-on exposure to various areas of AltaGas’ business. This program will provide an intensive and challenging work experience that will help prepare you for future, more challenging roles within AltaGas.

You do not have to have status or be a member of the Tahltan Band. All you have to have is Tahltan ancestry.

Job Responsibilities:
As a Business Analyst or Junior Operations Engineer in this new graduate development program, you can expect a variety of assignments and projects, continuous learning, training and mentoring. Over the course of four consecutive 6-month terms, you will rotate through four business areas of AltaGas. At the end of each term you will work with your counterparts in other business areas to transition on to a new rotation assignment. Upon completion of all four rotations after two years, you will be placed on a more permanent basis. Your final job could be in Calgary, Vancouver, or in northern British Columbia closer to home.

Desired Experience:

  • Completed Bachelor of Commerce, Finance, Management, Science, Arts or Engineering;
  • Demonstrated team player with strong organization, analytical, time management and customer service skills;
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite;
  • A positive attitude with a desire to learn and embrace change;
  • Self-starter with a proactive approach;
  • Familiarity with oil and gas terminology will be considered an asset.
