On June 21st, Canadians from all walks of life participated in National Aboriginal Day events that took place from coast to coast – celebrating Aboriginal heritage, diverse cultures and outstanding achievements of First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples in Canada.
In Telegraph Creek, we celebrated this special day with Tahltan singing and dancing, bannock making contest, tug-o-wars (which were dominated by the Tahltan women) and soapberry making contest. Also, Chief Rick McLean prepared a special treat for everyone over the fire and our amazing cooks prepared a feast which included BBQ salmon, moose stew, and other delicious dishes.
A big Medu to everyone who joined us for this day!
