On Friday June 20, 15 avid bike riders including Tahltan Youth and from as far away as Colorado took part in Tahltan Band’s 112km fifth annual Chief’s Ride from Dease Lake to Telegraph Creek.
The ride raises money for Tahltan with emergency medical costs and encourages youth and adults alike to get out on their bikes and get stay active and healthy.
Also, eight year-old Kenan McLean joined the last few kilometers of the ride from Six Mile. He rode hard and is the youngest Tahltan to ever take part in the ride.
A special mention also goes out to 11-year-old Antonio Quock who rode around 30km of the route and kept spirits high all day.
When they arrived in Telegraph Creek, the riders were welcomed by drummers, followed by a special dinner and music jam in the evening.
