From February 13, 14, and 16, the Tahltan Band welcomed community members to the TC Rec Centre for the Road to the Tahltan Winter Classic: a three-day series filled with sport, connection, and culture.
The series began on February 13 with shared meals and a feature presentation from Jordin Tootoo. On February 14, the excitement continued with a Canada vs. France watch party, additional community meals, a book signing with Tootoo, and a community skate that brought kids and families onto the ice.

The final day featured a presentation from Bryan Trottier, a community dinner, and a special presentation by Tahltan Knowledge Keepers highlighting the launch of E Mes dzi – The Owl. As the first-ever Tahltan Tail book written by a Tahltan author, the launch marked a meaningful milestone celebrating Tahltan storytelling, language, and authorship.

Bringing together sport, storytelling, and community connection, the Road to the Tahltan Winter Classic was a spirited and meaningful lead-up to the main event.
