Dear IR 9 Community Members,
The Boil Water Advisory remains in effect. Tahltan Band is working to resolve the issues so the advisory can be safely lifted.
Please see below for an update on the work underway.
▪ Chlorine Injection system parts are ordered and will be installed asap upon arrival.
▪ Tank cleaning is in the process and waiting on approval for funds by ISC.
▪ Air circulation valves being installed.
▪ New pumps for the wells are ordered and being installed asap.
We are hoping to have this work completed by December 15, 2026.
Until further notice, all community members are advised to bring water to a rolling boil for at least one full minute before using it for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, preparing baby formula, or washing food that will be eaten raw.
Please continue to follow these precautions until an official notice is issued confirming that the advisory has been lifted.
We understand the inconvenience this advisory may cause and appreciate everyone’s patience and cooperation while the situation is being addressed.
The community will be provided with further updates as more information becomes available.
